Johannes Ariens sells everything from electric motorcycles to hydrogen semis. He says the industry is trying to skip a step, and that small fleets with medium-duty trucks should go first.
Tell that to Elon. We’d all like him to give Rivian and Bezos Class 3 cargo van some competition slotted in the Class 4-6 space. But his $250k & 500mi Class 8 Semis are going to leave a mark in the existing truck manufacturing space.
How do you straightfacedly propose selling a $400k truck that has trouble reliably hitting 200mi on a charge?? Or even 300+ when 500miles is on the table for inarguably less upfront investment?
