Werner Enterprises lost on an appeal in a case involving a deaf driver, but the financial stakes were lower than at first.

How would the guy hear a tire blow or something wrong with the truck? How would he hear a train or a cop or ambulance? This is ridiculous.

You would feel a tire blowout.
Do a proper pre/post trip and any problem that arises from your driving down the road will be shown on dashboard.

Unfortunately, Werner brought this upon themselves. Before you are enrolled in Roadmaster you are pre-hired by an employer. You have an interview where they discuss the options available, you select what you’re interested in, such as Team/Solo driving, local, regional or OTR. What to expect to be paid per mile, etc. You know where you’ll be employed before you even start. Not to mention, having the cost of your schooling covered upon completion and the interim phone call discussions regarding how school is coming along. So, when did they NOT know that he was deaf?

I drove for Werner on the Family Dollar account years ago. I got a hearing exemption letter that I had to have for in my possession from F.M.C.S.A. I had no problems
