Shares of Union Pacific and Norfolk Southern rise as the railroads count down the days until filing their formal merger application with federal regulators.
Imagine if Android phones could only talk or text with other Android phones and iPhones could only connect with iPhones. Well maybe not that bad. Maybe just a half hour delay for the call or text to go through. Shippers on UP with receivers on CSX will be in a similar situation.
It would be wonderful to see the tracks that have been removed over the years replace with new rails so we can reduce the number of trucks on the overcrowded highways. The vehicular transportation business purportedly worked to remove them and the public went along with the idea at the time. I truly wonder how many of the public would relish the idea of better rails all across the US. This individula would be one of them~
