President Donald Trump said Tuesday that he would cut tariffs on Chinese imports but did not clarify by how much.
Love it. Only Trump could have people excited about a 50% tariffs vs China! Art of Deal. Start so crazy high; that, now, a 50% tariffs is almost welcomed. IMO crazy that the stock mkt folks got all excited about tariff relief; without thinking about the details. I think a 50% tariff on China as a smart place to park; for a couple years, to assess the effect on trade imbalance (wealth transfer). Hopefully 50% tariffs are enough to cause balanced trade. A mere 10% tariff would never be enough; vs all the other tactics China uses to dominate. We must fight back. Protectionism is good.
