One point the article misses,while touting how TPC is going to cure the parking problem in the industry, is that many of these “new” spaces are ones that were already existing and were being used. Not uncommon to pull into a non chain truckstop that used to offer free or reasonably priced parking to now see the big yellow signage saying TPC now runs the parking and better pay up. Or a place that used to be rent a space for drivers to park at on hometime, is now run by TPC. No amenities or such, and 5-10 miles from the nearest highway, but it gets classed as “added parking”. What would be interesting to see (and something the author should’ve researched and provided) is the ACTUAL number of “new” spaces vs the number of existing spaces that were already being utilized that they have just taken over as a way to make money.
