30 autonomous trucks to haul proppants nonstop on public roads in deal with Detmar Logistics
Only because youve been giving “special exemptions” autonomous trucks. Are not doing the the sane job. They cant put out reflectors too protect and warn human drivers. They want exempted from road side and scale inspections. Soo please dont define inaccurately. That there safe. There only safe in a very controlled scenario. And if theg truly did the same job and safer than a human. Then they wouldn’t need special exemptions. Period.
This is not to save costs at all, it’s to increase profits
It pains me to ask these 2 questions.
While I am NOT in the trucking business, it’s pretty clear to me that whoever is to blame, the trucking industry is currently in pretty sad shape.
Can an autonomous truck be less safe than a truck with a driver wearing flip flops who can’t read or even understand the English language ?
And please, can somebody (anybody?) help return the trucking industry to the days of competent American drivers ?
