The non-domicile CDL final rule eliminates EADs as a pathway to a commercial license and restricts eligibility to H-2A, H-2B, and E-2 visa holders. With 97 percent of the current 200,000 non-domiciled CDL holders unable to qualify under the new standard, expect 30,000 to 40,000 drivers removed from the commercial pool every year.
Well said. Thank you Rob. You keep bringing this issue to the front please. Next on to the chameleon carriers and those who are paying drivers 1099 who are in no way shape or form independent contractors but company drivers. Drivers deserve better. The public deserve better.
Thisis not a safety issue. There is no evidence nationality is a indicator of road safety. Accidents are down 8 percent.
I am sorry what you went through, but in US, about 8 thousand people die every day. You can’t show that 17 death in 2025 by non-domiciled driver is enough to make that change. If your main concern is safety of the people, you have more things to worry about than truck drivers. I have an example, maybe get rid of ■■■ violence. And btw ,this rule also gets overturned too, in about a month or so , just wait

Xenophobia has worked it way into my trade. That new driver has got to be able to operate a “big rig”. The candidate didn’t walk off the street and you gave him a set of key to move a million dollars of frieight and equipment accross the country. Did you not know after the 1st 5 min. he had no English skills on his “drive thru”. You past him along because he’d driver your rolling trash pile of equipment and not say a word. He’d work his backside off while you stole his wages and not say a thing.
He’d take whatever dispatch you gave even if the conditions are impossible and not say a word. Yes, he’d quietly take the blame for the corruption in our industry and quietly keep his mouth shut and take the blame and be the scapegoat.
Whatever the seemingly reasonable arguments, this crew doesn’t have very good history in bigotry and fairness. However excellent a fig leaf, it still covers an ugly d-ck.
Unless this is voted into law it only takes a decision NOT to enforce it. This needs to be made LAW!
DC circuit and apeals court is full Deeranged obama and biden judges. They always rule against rep administrations. I expect a deranged judge to rule against duffy because he hates Trump.
Unless duffy is willing to apeal all the way to the Supreme Court they rule will be killed by DC leftists judges.
