The Trump administration rescheduled ■■■■■■■■■ yesterday. Not all ■■■■■■■■■. Not recreational ■■■■■■■■■, but state-licensed medical ■■■■■■■■■ and FDA-approved products containing ■■■■■■■■■ moved from Schedule I to Schedule III of the Controlled Substances Act effective April 23, 2026. For the 3.8 million CDL holders in America and the broader population of CMV operators who never needed a CDL to begin with, the immediate practical answer is the same as it was Tuesday.
I suspect that the laws will end up similar to other laws regarding scheduled medication. I take a prescription benzodiazepine for sleep and just have to get an annual letter from my physician stating that it doesn’t impact my ability to perform safely at work. In reality, cannabis is a much safer medication than benzodiazepines, so it would be silly to treat it in any other manner.
