The Driver remains the box truck’s Achilles heel

Federal safety rules attach to the truck, not the driver. Get under the weight, the seats, or the license class, and some screening lifts. Here’s what the inspection data shows about who ends up behind the wheel of your delivery truck.

No…i Have to disagree…its 3 entities thats the problem…starting at the Top…I am a box truck driver…with a class be cdl…who allows an individual to operate a vehicle with air brakes..yet there is no test to confirm that qualification…?.who allows an individual to operate a comercial vehicle without a drug test…?..who ever that is whats the proof they care…the proof would be qualification and the standard drug and alcoholl testing…cant blame the driver…me personally thats a failure not only to the industry but it places povs at risk…right…you in an industry without the basic training and standards…Number 2 The Broker gives less than one ■■■■ how long you been driving thst day or the night before…i personally had been coerced to operate a comercial vehicle for 18 hours…None of them care because they look at box truck drivers as rats..but if the FM cared enough they would make it mandantory that no box truck can operate without an eld…and if a box truck is operating in the red brokers should be held liable as well as the carrier…they are forced by the brokers…that trickels down to the driver…So its the drivers fault they illegally operating it falls on them they smoke marijuanna and drink yes that a fact ive seen it… but are they partially allowed.. yes by who…who write the rules…i dont…you dont buy we know who does…if these roads are really cared about and SAFETY…SAFETY…was a core part the buck falls on the rule makers and not the driver…everyone blames the driver…we have to eat to we know we wrong…The Brokers and Carriers know we in the wrong when we operate illegally…but its the drivers fault..Do you know how many of us are operating illegally…out of every 10 i would say 6…rules we coerced to break for the sake of a dollar every day…nobody cares simply facts…i cant count the times ive operated illegally…but know im with a company that cares and i get proper rest..it is the entire system thats broken…In order whose at fault…1..The FMCSA 2. BROKERS 3 DRIVER…Everybody…but it all falls on the Driver…Thats an excuse for a lack of professionalism…for the entire industry…Class B Cdl should be required…Drug and Alchohol compliance…Broker and Carrier responsibility that the driver is in good standing to complete the pick up and drop and deliver within the established authority guidelines…if this is done your stats would vanish overnight…
