Nearly 88,000 trucking companies closed in 2023. Fraud losses topped $455 million in 2024. Carriers filing claims against $75,000 surety bonds are discovering that the pot’s already been split 50 ways. As the Supreme Court prepares to rule on whether brokers can be held liable for hiring bad carriers, it’s time to ask: who really bears the risk in freight, and is the system rigged against the people actually moving the loads?

Enough with the trucking association propoganda. I own a very small auto transport brokerage and never stiffed anyone in my life. I do less than 1000 a month in bill me’s and I am sick and tired of you all trying to destroy my company. First it was the Trust fund and I had to scramble to go into a surety. Not you got your way with that now your going after suretys too. This is all just nonsense. If you are so worried about being paid then do COD only. Stop making all us little brokers suffer for what other companies are doing. You just want to put all us small companies out of business. You are bound determined to do it. This time I will not take this sitting down and get every broker involved in this little game your playing. Stop doing bill mes. Its not the difficult!
