Stolen load of cellphones involving RXO may be another key broker liability case

RXO is involved in a legal case that could become another precedent in the question over when brokers can be held liable after a theft or accident.

Modern brokers are extremely invasive. They want Tracking, ELD access, direct access to the driver and more. These are not BROKERS but managers and as such they should be treated. If you want to micromanage my operation, then you can hold some accountability.

Here is the kicker…if RXO did their research, they would see that Wizard already has an unresolved insurance claim in Q2 of 2024. See Highway remarks: This carrier rented a reefer trailer and did not add it to their insurance and cannot provide maintenance reports. Their cargo insurer is not going to cover the $70,505 claim. The carrier stated that he did not know he needed to add non-owned equipment to his insurance policy. Once this claim is paid this report will be removed.

I’m sorry but if you are the biggest logistics provider in North America, shouldn’t you be vetting your carriers better? Why would you use Wizard on this $11.5M shipment?! Highway shows that both of their tractors are potentially uninsured!

Couldn’t agree more. Picking and choosing when you want to be treated like a vested party doesn’t work.
