The left-engine separation that caused a UPS cargo jet to crash in Kentucky this month is tied to metal fatigue in a key structural component, a preliminary report by investigators said.
92,990 hours of flight equals 10.64 years of continuous flight with 21,000 takeoffs/landings. I don’t care what thorough maintenance is taking place. They need to retire these workhorse aircraft rather than have them falling apart.
