Reasonable and necessary analysis. However, due to California’s AB 5 prohibition on owner-operator truck drivers, many of the CA new authorities starting in 2023 are simply owner-operators having to obtain authority in order to do business in California. I’m not sure how you factor this in, but I expect that the number is very significant.
Wash, rinse, repeat. Wasn’t the last story “Authorities are closing down and a surprising pace”.
Now the real news will be if the authorities are that are starting are building a business plan based on last years rates. The down market will come again. And the market has been going up for almost 20 years now, past time for a recession.
