Both FMCSA and outside companies are spurring carriers to get ready for the next phase of Motus.
Finally, this sounds as if they are going to reduce the use of filing agents? I understand the protections of an LLC, but they typically hide the real agent of the company - probably traceable, if inquired with the filing entity.
This is what has led to the abuse of a small UPS shipping storefront to be the most-used registration address for owner-operators.
I also did a maps search of that address, and believe to have seen a registering agent listed as a building occupant, right around the corner.
The LLC filing mechanism needs rehabbed as well, as it has become an accomplice to the fraud.
It woukd be interesting to find out the demographics of that fraud.
