Illinois-based LTI Trucking Services notified its 250 drivers Wednesday that the company was closing immediately.

That’s why we need to bring back good manufacturing jobs to the US there’s a whole lot of people, no offense, but they can’t just “learn to code” and with trucks now becoming completely automated, it’s not going to get better.

While our manufacturing base needs to come back (and it will), trucking will come along with it… Trucks will never be completely automated. If planes and trains aren’t completely automated trucks won’t be either. That doesn’t mean trucks won’t be ‘more automated’ for safety systems but robots? Never.
Too bad for this company. Capacity needs to adjust…

It is misguided to believe that this situation is “fixable.” In reality, we are witnessing the beginning of a larger, irreversible trend. Blaming liberals, immigrants, mainstream media, or automation will not change the fundamental issues at hand. This country’s economy is inextricably linked to the global economy, just as the world economy depends on the U.S. We elected a businessman with a history of exploiting loopholes and unethical practices to maintain wealth. However, there are no loopholes in a misguided trade war with the rest of the world. The country cannot simply file for bankruptcy as a solution to this problem.

It is important to understand that this issue transcends politics—it’s not about partisan agendas, but about a lack of strategy, foresight, and planning. A successful approach would involve a comprehensive plan with clear goals. Instead, we have a situation where personal ego has taken precedence over careful consideration, resulting in a trade war that disrupts the global economy. The idea of bringing manufacturing jobs back to America is flawed; the very fact that those jobs are not here today demonstrates the complexity of the issue. Disrupting the global economy in an attempt to bring those jobs back will not work as intended. The world will adapt, and the economic losses sustained by the U.S. will only serve to strengthen the position of other global economies in the future.
I deliberately failed to simplify language to ensure that those with no intellectual background would fail to understand the point being made. To be honest its kind of those individuals who helped us arrive where we are today …Congratulations MAGA you have truly elected a genius

@Brian_Hamill I feel we have a larger problem at hand and that is the growing divide in our society. Americans are acting with the emotional maturity of a third grader. People are not listening to what is being said. They are only determining which team they think you are on. Once they feel certain that you are not wearing the same color t-shirt as them they discard all useful content and begin insulting. I’m insulting all of you. I want to smack all of you upside the head. Stop being such a child. If you can’t leave a comment without adding a quick jab at the end, you a contributor. It doesn’t matter how right you are when the other party is only going to respond to the insult. The scale of this blows my mind. I can not understand why I’m not hearing more people who have stopped to take a look around and noticed how stupid we are acting as a society. I don’t see our country getting any better until we come in from the playground and get into our booster seat at the grown-ups table. Even if our brother or sister gets to come to the table too, we need to have a talk without insults. It doesn’t matter if we don’t feel like our brother or siser deserves to be there or even if they are still acking like a baby. We all need to grow up together and work towards a solution that benefits the whole family. I really hope a group of us starts to form who have took a step back and realized how stupid this all is. This is the group of people that needs to lead our country. I think this problem occurs with every generation it’s just that today that group of people is refusing to get together. We need thicker skin. I promise you other smart people exist. Maybe if we act more mature ourselves it will be easier to identify the other people who need to be stepping up right now. Brian, I’m sorry to point you out. Your comment contains valid points. I’m simply frustrated with reading so many comments that I feel are being ignored because people can’t get past themselves.

All forward miles in trucking need to be profitable to the carrier, NOT THE BROKER. Not only do brokers keep the profitable portion of trucking revenue but they have caused many companies to believe that the rate that carriers are servicing at IS the rate. Many of these big companies are now trying to bypass their brokers but they want that garbage useless rate so in the bids, the brokers keep winning.
In the bids that I have participated in, I can not compete against the brokered rates of these mega carrier/brokers of the mega brokers. They will come in at a little above their margin, to feed their own trucks, and the rest they bang the needy.
This system is broken and it will only get worse until all carriers unite. When we unite with a common goal in mind, we can accomplish that. Imagine if 400,000 trucks decided to stop hauling for brokers tomorrow in a unified manner. Sit back, close your eyes and imagine ALL of the good that will happen in this industry.
It won’t happen but IF they outlawed brokerages, you would only be able to haul your capacity, then the rest of the freight goes to the next carrier. Carriers will compete against carriers and that would be a much healthier trucking eco system.
