The U.S. House of Representatives voted Wednesday to revoke two trucking-related Environmental Protection Agency waivers granted to California.
Counter-intuitively, cancelling the waiver may accelerate the transition as California redirects its energies to other things it still has control over: availability of fossil fuels used in trucks and other vehicles.
It’s something not mentioned much but California will eventually make it harder and harder to find diesel and gasoline to fuel vehicles. Refineries are already being shut down for a reason. And they won’t come back once gone.
