This week, I was drawn into the feud between Project44 and FourKites, fierce rivals in logistics tech. Matt Elenjickal, FourKites’ CEO, misrepresented my comments about Project44’s Movement platform as a quote from Jett McCandless, Project44’s CEO. He also misstated their context to unfairly damage Project44’s reputation. Those were my words alone. In a LinkedIn post,…

Let’s be real. AI is AIMED at eliminating most admin jobs. Once it can talk to each other there will be no need for desk jockey’s like myself. Just maintenance workers who oversee AI dialogue the first few years. I’m older now but it’s a scary world for anyone entering the FF or Import/Export business. For more efficency it would be best for one company to handle it all, but it won’t work that way due to monopoly laws. Everyone will play nice and at the same time it will just impact the customer. Scary times and this is only the beginning.

It is not hyperbole when I say FW has the biggest mega phone in logistics and when it comes to logistic tech, no one comes close to having the reach and respect as FW.

That is why it is so baffling that Elenjichal would alienate the Found and CEO of Freightways. Did he honestly think Craig when allow this to go unchecked? Maybe the board at 4K will now take action.

It’s understandable to feel concerned about the impact of AI on jobs, and it’s a conversation worth having. Throughout history, new technologies have always brought about similar anxieties. Think about the Industrial Revolution, the rise of computers, or even the internet – each brought predictions of widespread unemployment.

What we’ve consistently seen, however, is that while some jobs or tasks may be automated, the workforce adapts. New technologies often create entirely new industries, roles, and opportunities that were previously unimaginable. Instead of simply replacing human workers, AI is more likely to augment our abilities, making us more efficient and freeing us up for more complex, creative, or interpersonal work. It’s less about eliminating jobs and more about evolving them.

The key will be focusing on reskilling and upskilling to prepare for these new opportunities. Just as we’ve adapted to every major technological shift before, I believe we’ll adapt to AI as well, ultimately leading to a more productive and perhaps even more fulfilling work landscape.

Elenjichal here. FW has the largest megaphone, but how does a loud pack of hyenas stack up to a lion?
