Federal regulators plan to launch a 25-minute survey to quantify the benefits of adding more truck parking capacity.
They should mandate that ALL shipper and receivers be required to let trucks with incoming and outgoing freight park ONSITE, not on the street, not down the street, ONSITE for 10 hours prior to and after their scheduled appointment time in order to complete a required 10 hour rest break.
Something else that would help immensely with parking spaces would be to mandate that trucks cannot be speed limited/governed lower than the maximum speed limit of any state they operate in.
