Regulators are threatening to withhold up to $151 million from Pennsylvania and potentially decertify its CDL program over uncorrected non-domiciled license errors.
The Fact that they test when I took it was offered in multiple languages meant that they PA program was faulty.
It’s about time.. we American truckers have been complaining and warning dot for years about these foreign drivers who are reckless on our roads. They all come from countries that have no traffic laws, no respect and they show no regard for human American life.. imo every single one should be deported ASAP!!!?
The courts pause on this rule is moot. The reason being is that the court has no power to order the FMCSA to not withhold highway funds. The states will comply or risk losing those funds. It is about time. Thank you Secretary Duffy.
At least you can now get in and out of most truck stops at night and find a parking spot, excepting Loves, since the Feds started cracking down on nondomiciled CDL’s and my freight rates have gone up a little. Almost enough to cover the increase in diesel prices.
It’s a start. And to think they were contemplating more taxpayer money judt to increase parking. Better that the root cause has been identified!
I’m glad to see they are going retro on this and demanding they correct the ill-gotten licenses as well, not just letting them run out.
The broker’s golden funnel of cheap labor is beginning to empty. Good to see for the legit drivers that have been forced out of fair rates.
Anyone get a bit tired of the headline grabbing distraction? How is this cultural discrimination different from the rest of the ‘not us’ segmenting off our society has done before str-ping rights and ab-sing whole classes of folks?
Once they get done running out the 200,000 supposed non-domiciles and the ELPs, who’s to say who will be the next target for profit boosting elimination?
We’ve got enough of our own problems if you look at truck maintenance red tagging in the commercial vehicle inspection sweeps… But that isn’t a chance to try to grab freight capacity from someone else, so cold shoulder?
We’d better be careful what we wish for.
