I’m 62 yo with no accidents or tickets in 30 yrs. And not one failed drug test ever. I’ve got 47 yrs experience driving. I’m confident that I am in the higher percentile of overall safe competent truck drivers on the road. So where is the checks and balances and fairness to provide commercial drivers who experience questionable practices by any other entity that can destroy a career with absolutely no recourse for a driver to challenge unfair or illegal business practices? This FMCSA Clearinghouse is a scam. Its a pretty facade to make it seem like they are taking unsafe drivers off the road. What it actually becomes is a money grab from individuals who are at risk of losing their livelihood. A Sap evaluator from Alabama called me. I live in Arizona and had not even looked for a Sap Evaluator or provided what or who to contact from my employer. She informed me that I was required to pay $500 before I could speak to this SAP Evaluator once they run that card for $500 you are locked in without any clue about this program or specific money you will be forced to pay if you ever expect to drive again. Of course it’s all fear driven and cheap car salesman tactics, it’s our government! They ask some random assessment questions from the driver and spin the wheel which will decide how many classes you will need to pay for without a job, before you are worthy to be punished an additional 5 yrs of low paying discriminated out cast trucking jobs once they complete the steps successfully and license marked. Meanwhile all these ungrateful foreign thieves who exploit the American dream trucking companies are tampering ELD Logs of brand new drivers with no experience to catch on why they can’t figure out the math to explain how the 10 hr reset is more like 8 hrs every day. Or running garbage on wheels and a prayer and I’m waiting for the first ignorant comment about how maybe I shouldn’t be a trucker at this point , so I can vaporize your ego. I’m speaking right now, so keep it yourself. Let’s pause for a moment to consider who is the problem in this overall shit show? All you grumpy know it alls, who started out driving 5 stick shifts 50 gears and ran Ethel in the tank, and a jar of white cross, or any other person with a CDL and a negative attitude who just like to have somebody to belittle OR the Government and Oil and Transportation industry who make all the money but won’t fill those swimming pool size pot holes on the I-40 to make transporting freight easier on the truckers. It’s everybody’s fault. Because no body has the balls to speak up.So explain to me how a pre-employment UA dropped at a Banner Health Clinic in Phoenix results initially reported as negative 2 or 3 days later after drop and as a condition of employment with confirmation of that negative lab result received by employer in order to insure me and allow me to operate their equipment , some how comes back positive for drugs over 30 days later from a lab in upstate New York? And not affiliated with Banner Health whatsoever. Not only that I asked for another test of original sample and copy of the results in an actual document form that I could read because I guess I failed to mention I was an ER nurse for 20 yrs prior to deciding to pursue a career in trucking. This MRO warned me that if I failed to answer my phone when they called the next day, I wouldn’t receive another call and she would report results to Clearinghouse. And I never received copy of lab results. This is not any type of chain of custody or procedural practice that makes any sense? My very unsupportive bus driving trucker family out here has been nothing but petty, discouraging really miserable human beings. Thanks guys, especially all you automatic restricted drivers. It’s ok, bless your heart. So I refuse to pay for classes and suffer financially for what I have been falsely reported for without a fight or actual proof. They got the $500 out of me and will not refund that money. For what service did they render to charge $500 if I’m choosing not to participate in program? Did I break a law? I wasn’t even actually hired at the time of this UA, so why must I be observed while I urinate like Im a criminal? Well guess what? I am going to pursue this, because it’s wrong and thank God Big Daddy Trump is home!
