Manipulation of electronic logging devices is creating a two-tier trucking market — where some carriers follow hours-of-service rules and others bypass them to run nearly double the miles per week, experts said.

Gee the idiots who were screaming about highway safety 15-20 years ago HAVE GOTTEN EXACTLY WHAT THEY WANTED. Unfortunately the results they got wasn’t what they thought they’d get. And now they’re unhappy because the little man is trying to make up some of the lost money these BOZOS cost everyone the only way they can.

You want highway safety, tell DARPA to hurry up with that Star Trek transporter they’re working on.

You have to speak with the experts first. Call the ELD providers that not cheating and ask them! I think that installing license-plate readers and creating a verification system based on them would be a cost-effective and functional solution. But ELD manufacturers may know better options.

Start tracking who the frauds are. I guarantee there is a common denominator.

Crazy thing is that FMCSA knows about some of those fleets, they reward them with allowing them to switch ELD provider when they get caught. Those companies need to be shut down, people running them should be held responsible.

You are influencing people with false information and have no idea what you are talking about , there is no jailbroken Eld ,…

It takes an average $1 per mile to run these trucks , the brokers who only exist because of deregulation and control the market barely want to pay you $1.60

You’re going to spend nearly 6 hours a day at facilities , disrupting your time and making the freight economy otherwise impossible to move

You obviously don’t know what we go through and do not have on the job experience , and should not be spreading false information to the public on topics you dont know much about

Obviously it’s not a perfect system , severely flawed and should be deregulated

A lot of hype on this topic, but these stories run alongside other stories about “1 in 6” trucks being put OOS for Brake Hardware!!

Who’s alleging that one in six drivers is an ELP failing illegal immigrant?

Don’t take the rage bait may be good advice?
