We don’t have a driver shortage. We have a shortage of drivers willing to work for undesirable wages and corporate micromanaging. There are many very qualified drivers that have left the market. When you can work 45hrs a week and go home everyday for the same pay and benefits with less risk it’s a no brainer.

I’m not quite sure what does Department of Transportation And ice has anything to do with each other. I believe the real problem is not these migrant truck drivers i do agree there are some problems I agree right with english professincy but majority Of the accident in the trucking industry are not caused by these migrant drivers, they do stupid stuff yes I agree. They should not have a license if they do not speak English yes I agree, but there’s a bigger problem the bigger problem is mega carriers trying to monopolize the trucking industry. And this guy Duffy is not to be trusted. He is aligning the trucking industry into the artificial intelligence field, where there will be no more truck drivers mark this post, he does not work for the American people. He works for the big tech, just like they were telling you that TikTok needed to be takeover because of the Chinese. Then we found out who took over TikTok Oracle CEO I rest my case research this issue Carefully, the big mega carriers are the big problems. You put out an entire article the other day saying there’s no driver shortage and that it’s a myth, and the ATA has done severe damage to the trucking industry, and then you end this article saying there is one.

What he said in the other article is there is a shortage; not if people wanting to drive but of quality people. Which does lead nicely into this article.
I have been driving for over 40 years and you are clearly not a driver and also clueless. The Democrats have opened the flood gates for illegal immigrants to get in the country and take American drivers jobs. I am sure it is to increase their future voter base. The rates have went down because we have to compete with third world immigrants that usually live in their trucks. Go to any Loves truck and it is like going to another country! Answer one simple question, why does California have the lowest Freight rates in the entire country by far. California has the most example diesel and the most exspensive operating cost. The simple answer is California has flooded the road with non domicile immigrant drivers. Since 2014 the at fault Commercial drivers accidents involving fatalities has increased by more than 40 percent. The University of Tennessee did a nationwide study of all the the MVR’s that have English proficiency violations and they are more than 3.5 times likely to be in a serious accident.

Reactive BS policy meant to placate racists after the recent tragic accidents. The number of times I’ve been nearly run off the road lately by tractor trailers doing 80 right up people’s back ends, or had a car carrier cut me off taking a left across 3 to 4 lanes of traffic and the driver has been a white boomer are too numerous to count. Some of these driver legit act like they can ever hit their brakes, ever. I watch them tailgate other drivers, too, like they’re just driving a typical pick up or something. There’s absolutely no reason for any trucks to be doing more than 5 to 10 over the posted limit, even THAT is pushing it with the loads they carry. We have an adult literacy rate under 60 percent last time I checked. It’s not just immigrants.
How is this not a Rinse&repeat of the misguided and court rejected M-sl-m Ban style legal ‘interpretations’? No due process firing of 200,000 drivers? Every fourth federal inspection somehow finds an ELP? When none of the state inspection programs can break 10% and only one exceeds 3%? How does one make that sound fair and “American”? Make the little guy sweat without a paycheck and under conjured deportation excuses while the lawyers duke it out is a level playing field in whose book? Isn’t that strategy of hit them continuously while the courts slowly ponder it what’s happening with SNAP and kids food right now?
