Canada’s Port Saint John and DP World completed the eastern maritime hub’s $178 million West Side Modernization Project.
On the Montreal end at least, dock-to-stock under 48h is doable if drayage windows line up with the FIRMS slot. Where it falls apart is when carriers push container free time without checking in with the warehouse — we end up paying detention while the appointment system says we’re “open.”
The cleanest fix we’ve seen is just having the broker, drayer, and warehouse on one shared shipment thread. Sounds basic but most LCL consoles I see don’t have it.
