We don’t need for the brokers to provide it on every load within 48 hours. All of the information is not available in 48 hours. What we need is compliance and severe consequence for non compliance. A brake chamber failure 5 miles below an approaching scale will get a carrier placed out of service. Road call, service truck, $700 repair for 1 hour of labor with a $97 part. Not an option, but this is forced compliance with a negative 2 year effect on the carriers CSA score. Brokers need to be held to the minimum requirements of the law and not allowed to play the “Read into the law” game that they have gotten away with. Carriers and shippers deserve the enforcement as they are the ONLY entities with real investment. And IF the brokers fall off, then that has to be accepted as the intended consequence of the law. At that point, they can address weather brokers are necessary and deserving of a legally enforceable position within the trucking industry. I know that I lost some of you with that rant but for the others, tell me what you think.
You can ALWAYS collect brother. You simply have to know how. The shipper is on the ■■■■ until the carrier OR consignee (The BOL will tell you) is on the ■■■■ until the carrier is paid in full. F the bond. I NEVER file on the bond. Go to the people that hired the broker and get paid. I have done this for more than 20 years and been paid EVERY time EXCEPT with Samuel and son. BUT, with what I know now, I wish that I had that opportunity back.
