The Trump administration has launched a sweeping package of initiatives affecting trucking that includes investigating fraudulent CDLs, money for parking, and work-hour flexibility.
At least, some major improvements are going on.
Thanks to POTUS Trump Administration.
However, Florida is the heaven and one of the best destinations to haul loads because of, many big rest areas are available throughout the interstates or a major hwy in a span of 35 to 40 miles apart.
However, such rest areas are not available in California areas, where trucks from all over the country ply in and out. Necessary steps have to be taken to make truckers comfortable in California.
Nothing being done. All Smoke and mirrors
$180,000,000 / 917 parking spots = $196,000 per spot…what a bargin…lol
Very true. I am retired now but it still bothers me that with all the freight and produce that come out of my home state of California that there is still such a problem with truck parking. One of the largest economies in the nation based here and you, as drivers, have to ■■■■■ for a spot to park or park illegally in some po-dunk town that hates trucks and or truck drivers. This ■■■■ has to stop. Thank God the president has it right. Trucks keep America moving and professional drivers keep the trucks safely moving 24/7. Give them a break, they are doing it for you, your family and for the rest of America.
The 5-5 rule was used in the past, so helpful I’m ecstatic they are bringing it back!
These changes give some hope to our nations extremely valuable assets, truck drivers . On a daily basis ,companies and there work forces are challenged from start to finish. I feel that our Govt. Could do a couple of things that could help all levals of the industry, First:a nationwide cost per gallon on feul that is fair, with one feul surcharge coast to coast, this would be only for companies that comply with the IFTA tax format. Further a higher IFTA tax instead of out of control feul cost ,a direct result of investment and future costs of oil.
Second: more money for drivers , eliminating the income tax on wages would free up money for drivers ,save money for companies as they cant give wage increases due to cost ,lessend feul cost would directly help companies, no federal income tax would increas driver wages, SSI tax would continue.
Voluntary withholding would be easier, to save for
Retirement… ect. Just one opinion…
The DOT worked so hard to get only foreigners behind the wheel though?
