A report by CBS on trucking and brokerages spurred a lengthy response from C.H. Robinson.

Total Lawyer statement, let’s talk to operations and ask how many new approved carriers are coming on board weekly to cover freight that stat would be and interesting to see.

if you haul a load for CH Robinson you dont know anything abot hauling loads. goverment has a minimun rate to charge on all loads its called a gsa rate. thats what you charge plus fuel.should pay you around 4.65 per mile. i am a goverment carrier so they show you what it pays.

its funny how they wont let new carriers haul.

This not strictly a broker-carrier problem.

The three largest “Shipper-Carrier-Broker” combinations according to US DOT, based on driver count, are:

  • Walmart
  • Amazon
  • Fedex Freight

These three companies are marked in the US DOT Census Report as “Shipper,” “Carrier,” and “Broker.” When a company acts as all three parties, they are judge, jury, and ■■■■■■■■■■■ when it comes to use of chameleon carriers. They know better and are culpable under the current highway conditions. They benefit directly in toilet-dwelling freight rates.

There is something much deeper happening at CH Robinson. My company has tried to carry for them multiple times and they deny us due to “safety”. Mind you, we have a great safety record and the people we know who haul for them have horrible records, skip there 34 our reset, don’t use the ELD, etc. I don’t understand.
