On Tuesday afternoon, a 30-year-old truck driver from Philadelphia named Bekzhan Beishekeev failed to stop for slowed traffic on State Road 67 in Jay County, Indiana. He swerved into oncoming traffic and killed four Amish men, a father, two of his sons, and a family friend.
Folks:
This worth the time to view. Think about this the next time you order from Amazon. I show up around minute 40 and again around minute 46.
I assisted on the information assembly and piece direction. The rest of my interview ended up on the editing floor. This expose does get it right. This is “why” I route rail.
It’s hard to believe that in today’s data heavy business models that these types of flagrant violations can go unnoticed. Many of these carriers display recurring types of behavior that are quantifiable if anyone would bother to look. Just a quick check showed that several of the entities named in the article have noticeably frequent and large changes in carrier data updates to their MCS 150. If a truck count changes every other month by hundreds of units it can only mean that they are either floating trucks between multiple carriers or are manipulating data to offset adverse safety performance. This is something I see day after day so this is not just a one off, it’s a widespread issue.
Imagine if you will, the next illegal immigrant trucker fatality incident is not an accident…
