Lets Make America Great Again!!! Once upon a time truck drivers were professional truck drivers. They communicated together and the CB radio was a lifeline. They chatted together, but when it was needed it also reported traffic hazards and other driving concerns, making the road ways much safer. When someone on the road needed assistance, a truck driver or 2 would stop to help. They were King of the Roads. (OK, today we might have to also welcome Queens of the Road.
Today we have truck drivers wearing flip flops - holding the steering wheel with their left hand and their cell phone with their right hand (doing what?) One trucker passed me and he was sitting cross legged, like they do at home when they have dinner.
A lot of these drivers have come out of moms basement, stating after playing video games, truck driving is easy. Maybe it’s because the number of trucks on the road, but some of these drivers have no consideration for others, ie at the fueling stations and parking and blocking driving lanes.
Maybe I’m too old, but I remember when Truck Drivers were Truck Drivers, and I am hoping that with President Trump and Sean Duffy, we will see a cleanup in this Industry and the trucking industry and truck drivers will be recognized and treated as such, also financially.
