Teamsters to appeal decision freeing Yellow from WARN liability

The Teamsters union told members it is appealing a bankruptcy court’s decision finding Yellow Corp. not liable for failing to provide proper notification ahead of mass layoffs.

They still have not notified me! No letter, no phone call… I found out from Social media, when I went to enter one of the headquarters I worked remote from, they had already unplugged all of the computers and removed their personal belongings. I don’t know if that is a different type of law, aside from WARN absolutely No notification. I had July 28th off it was apart of my work rotation and went to login after someone messaged me on social media and sure enough I couldn’t access anything, not even my check stubs which made applying for unemployment another story, I lost my vehicle due to how long it took for me to be able to use an article as proof. Shame on them, they lied to us and made us lie to the customers for them. I was told that management actually knew and was told to make other job arrangements weeks if not over a month prior, one of the managers actually did.

Really, what’s the point of the Warn Act if any company can make up any excuse that they are now “ Liquidating” Maybe this was Yellow plan weeks before they went out of business. What a clever way to avoid the Warn Act. And of course a Delaware judge made the ruling.:joy: Companies in similar situations seek Delaware for cases like this because of their bias support for corporations and dislikes for Unions. The IBT needs to do a full investigation! I am tired of seeing companies like Yellow cheat the system. Where is the freakin justice?

This is very typical of yrc. They cheated the teamster members in California. We are owed at least a million each member for 15 percent pay cuts pension cuts that was only to be for 18 months to help the company out. Need to go after the board members CEO,CCO,CFO all of them. Just for the record only the east Coast teamster got screwed over. At least the central kept it up until the last year or two. Take care of the union employees.

The upper Management New it was coming. I was just a mechanic and I told all the guys to start looking. I left a year before cuz I new it was coming.
