we have a dollar general store who used to have the self check out scanners. I went in there one night to get me a 12 pack of beer and they were gone and only one checker there. There were like 10 people ahead of me. I finally got to the check out and I asked the girl what happened to the self check out scanners. and she said too many people were taking advantage of them by not scanning many items and just putting them in their basket. and then going out the door. The manager told me they lost 40k the month before. Not many stores can survive losing that much money every month. shame people have to steal to survive. or they just like the idea of getting stuff free
