Regulators are pursuing a three-year extension for a non-domiciled CDL data collection despite legal challenges, citing a need for federal oversight.

How is it a federal overreach??? The Constitution plainly states that immigration is the sole discretion of the Federal Government. The FMCSA is part of the federal government. Sick and tired of these states demanding people obey the laws unless they want to ignore them

Well the United States government allows car rental insurance agencies to charge American citizens more money when they rent from out of state because they say that the person renting the vehicle is unfamiliar with the area which makes it unsafer which allows them to charge more money to rent the vehicle. So if they can keep stats and data like that on American citizens then why can’t they do the same thing to illegal immigrants they should be able to charge a lot more for car insurance with the legals who aren’t just unfamiliar with the area they aren’t familiar with the whole country and everything in it. Of course they should keep records but they don’t want to keep records cuz they don’t want to show that data proves there’s a lot of accidents and everything else with the legal immigrant drivers

The entire situation can definitely go under scrutiny but the good paying for the bad where holding a Non-domiciled CDL is concern is absurd. I’m an immigrant waiting in line like everyone else that applied for Permanent residence, does that mean I should not be able to work as a driver until they give me a green card, No. That is not right, especially since there are far more safety sensitive jobs that are not being barred from the immigrant populace. I went to an accredited American trucking school, went the DMV and got my license and didn’t purchase through a back alley, much less had it handed to me and I cannot get it renewed because some baseless assumptions are being made. During my almost year driving trucks I have come under fire by regular Motorist trying to get an insurance pay out. How about justice for us drivers, they pull in-front of us with no indicators, they speed pass us just to come and hard brake in-front of us so we can hit them and they claim we are at fault. This was done to me twice in Miami and when I attempted to change lanes, they cut infront of me again to try and come do the same thing so it was intentional. Where is our justice as immigrant truck drivers. It’s a good thing I did defensive driving certification because I would probably had hit those stupid motorists.
The point is, the entire situation is unfair because many Americans are senseless behind the wheels of their car and they have so much road rage against truck drivers moving slowly infront of them.
